Setting up Buy More Save More Upsell

How it Works

Buy More Save More module lets you encourage your customers to increase the purchase quantity of certain items with special discount. For example, you can provide 2% discount if customers buy 3 pieces of the same item.

When you enable this module, a “Save more” button appears in each cart item that is applicable for the offer. When the click the button, they will see all the buy more offers for this product. When they click any of the offer, the cart items will be updated with the new quantity and the discount will be automatically added.

How the discount is applied: The discount is applied only to that line item, not the on the whole cart value. For example, if a customer buys 10 of the same item and cost per item is $10 and we give them 5% discount. The discount is only applied on those ten items. So, the discount in our case would be $5 USD.

Setting it Up

First enable the Module from the Buy More Save More tab Under the Upsell Settings tab.

Let’s say we want to give our customers 3% discount when they purchase 3 of the same item, 5% discount when they purchase 5, and 8% when they purchase 10. And we want to give the discount only to specific items. Let’s see how we can set that up.

Step 1: Creating the Discounts

From the Offers tab, click the + Add New button.

From the newly appeared offer settings box, set the Quantity in Buy field and set the offer amount value and the offer type from Type dropdown field. You can set it to either flat amount or percentage. Since we want our first offer, we want to give 3% discount if customers buy 3 same items. We will set the first field to 3 and then next field to 3 and then type option to percentage.

The same way, we will create the other 2 offers so that our offers look like this:

Step 2: Select the Products that should have the Buy More Save More offers

Open the Settings tab under the Buy More Save module.

Then select on what type of products you want to apply the offer from the Offers Applicable for option. You can either make the offers applicable for all the products of your store, or selected products or products with specific products type.

If you select Specific Products option, select the products that should have the Buy More Save more offers you set in the Offers tab.

If you have selected All products or products based on certain products type and you don’t want to apply the offers to some products, you can exclude them from the Exclude tab.

Step 3: Customizing the Offer Button and the Offer messages

When the offers are applicable for certain products, they will display a “Save More” button when they are added to the cart. When clicked, the button will list all the offers you have set in the Offers tab.

To change the Text of the Offers Button, go to the Settings tab, and change Offer Label text.

To change how the offers are displayed, you can use Offer Template option. This text template is used to render each offer item in offer list. In this field you can write {{quantity}} to render the required quantity for an offer item and {{discount}} to render the offer value.

Displaying the Buy More Save More module only when certain conditions are met

With Cart+ you have the option to display a module only when a customer meets certain condition. You can display only if the they have spent a certain amount, added a certain number of products, from a specific country and a lot more. You can learn how you can conditionally display an upsell module by following this guide.
